Teochew Festival is a signature cultural event organised by Teochew Poit Ip Huay Kuan (Singapore). It was initiated by Dr George Quek, then President of the 42nd–43rd Terms and current Adviser and Life Honorary President of the Huay Kuan. The festival aims to preserve and promote Teochew culture. It showcases Teochew traditions, crafts, cuisine and opera, while bringing together Teochews in Singapore and around the world.

The first Teochew Festival was held at Ngee Ann City in 2014. The 12-day event attracted more than 100,000 visitors. The second edition took place at Marina Bay Sands in 2016. It featured a larger 45,000-square-foot exhibition space over 10 days and welcomed more than 150,000 visitors. In 2021, during the COVID-19 pandemic, the Huay Kuan launched the Virtual Teochew Village, allowing audiences around the world to experience the festival online.

Teochew Festival offers an immersive cultural experience for people of all ages. It welcomes elderly Teochews who miss their hometown, young children discovering their heritage, younger generations tracing their roots, and visitors from all backgrounds. The festival not only brings familiar tastes and cherished memories to the Teochew community, but also introduces the richness of Teochew culture to the wider public. Today, its cultural influence continues to grow. Its theme song, “Teochew Nang, Ka-Ki Nang, Hey Yo Hey Yo”, remains widely recognised and warmly embraced.
