Benefiting the People, Devotion to One’s Roots

19 世纪 30 至 40 年代，潮州八邑会馆积极服务潮人社群，修筑潮州北堤、赈济汕头贫民、支援抗战、救助粮荒，热心各族群慈善事业，弘扬互助精神，心怀家国、情系桑梓。

In 1830s and 1840s, Teochew Poit Ip Huay Kuan actively served the Teochew community, built the Chaozhou North Embankment, provided relief for the poor in Shantou, offered wartime aid, and helped famine victims. It was enthusiastic about charitable causes for all ethnic groups, promoted the spirit of mutual aid, and held a deep devotion to the country and a strong attachment to the homeland.

1937年全面抗战爆发，会馆捐资修筑潮州防提，加固韩江堤防、守护潮汕平原民生安全，彰显侨胞心系故土、共护家园的担当

In 1937, following the outbreak of full-scale resistance against foreign aggression, the Huay Kuan donated funds to build flood defenses in Chaozhou and reinforced the embankments of Han River. By safeguarding the well-being and safety of the Chaoshan people, the Huay Kuan demonstrated the commitment of overseas compatriots to their homeland and their dedication to protecting their native community.

进入 2000 年后，八邑会馆始终坚守初心，立足本土服务潮人社群，积极回馈祖籍地、投身赈灾济困、兴学助教与社会公益，大力弘扬潮人守望相助、爱国爱乡的传统美德。

Since 2000, Teochew Poit Ip Huay Kuan has remained steadfast in its original mission to serve the local Teochew community while actively giving back to its ancestral homeland. It has dedicated itself to disaster relief, poverty alleviation, the promotion of education, and social welfare, vigorously upholding the traditional Teochew virtues of mutual support and deep affection for both country and hometown.

2006年，潮州市水灾捐赠赈灾款，支援家乡灾后重建、纾解乡亲困境

In 2006, the Huay Kuan donated funds for disaster relief in Chaozhou to support post-disaster reconstruction and to alleviate the hardships faced by fellow Teochews.

2017年11月11日，与福建会馆、九龙会、江苏会联合发起“新加坡社会公益日”活动，凝聚华社力量，推动本地多元族群公益互助、共建和谐社会。

On November 11, 2017, the Huay Kuan jointly launched the “ Alliance for Betterment of Community Day ” initiative with Singapore Hokkein Huay Kuan, Kowloon Club and Jiangsu Association, uniting Chinese communities to foster mutual aid across local ethnic groups, and build a harmonious society.

联结四海凝聚潮人

Connecting the World, Uniting Teochews

创会以来，始终致力联结全球潮人、凝聚华人力量。从参与发起马潮联会、国际潮团联谊年会，到两度承办年会、推动成立国际潮籍博士联合会，积极牵头组建华人社团，不断深化乡谊、拓展交流，持续提升潮人国际影响力。

Since its inception, the Huay Kuan has remained dedicated to connecting Teochew people worldwide and uniting the strength of Chinese community. From helping to initiate the Federated Teochew Associations of Malaysia and the Teochew International Convention, to hosting the convention twice and spearheading the establishment of the International Teochew Doctors Association, it has actively taken the lead to forge Chinese community organizations, deepening ties while expanding exchanges among fellow clansmen, and steadily enhancing the international influence of the Teochew community.

1934年，参与发起成立马来西亚潮州公会联合会（马潮联会），奠定新马潮人社团合作基础，推动区域乡谊整合

In 1934, the Huay Kuan took part in the formation of The Federated Teochew Associations of Malaysia (FTAM) that laid the foundation for cooperation among Teochew community organizations across Malaya and Singapore and promoted the integration of regional kinship ties.

1980年初，作为核心发起方之一，参与组织发起国际潮团联谊年会，，搭建全球潮人最高规格交流平台。

In early 1980, the Huay Kuan was a core initiator of the Teochew International Convention and helped establish a premier exchange platform for the global Teochew community.

1987年，会馆承办第四届国际潮团联谊年会，汇聚全球潮人共襄盛举，共有来自世界各地19个潮团和一千五百多名代表出席盛会，开启新加坡潮团办会先河。

In 1987, the Huay Kuan hosted the 4th Teochew International Convention, which was attended by 19 Teochew organizations and over 1,500 delegates from across the world, and marking the first time a Teochew organization in Singapore had hosted such a convention.

2003年，再次主办第十二届年会，促进海内外潮人合作交流，深化潮人乡谊，吸引20 多个国家、85个潮人社团，共计3000多人与会，推动全球潮商合作与文化交流

In 2003, the Huay Kuan hosted the 12th Teochew International Convention that fostered and deepened bonds of kinship among Teochew communities at home and abroad. The event attracted more than 3,000 participants from 85 Teochew organizations across over 20 countries and helped promote global collaboration and cultural exchange among Teochew entrepreneurs.

2013年，参与发起成立“国际潮籍博士联合会”，旨在凝聚乡情，促进各专业领域的交流与发展，以提升潮人的国际影响

In 2013, the Huay Kuan helped found the International Teochew Doctors Association that aims to foster ties among fellow Teochew people, promote interaction and development across various professional fields, and enhance the international influence of the Teochew community.

参与发起新加坡广东会馆、宗乡总会等组织，凝聚华人族群、推动华族文化传承与发展，成为新加坡华社中坚力量。

The Huay Kuan helped found organizations such as the Singapore Kwangtung Hui Kuan and the Singapore Federation of Chinese Clan Associations that further unite the Chinese community to promote the preservation and development of Chinese culture, thereby establishing itself as a pillar of Singapore’s Chinese community.
