8月 2 日，新加坡潮州八邑会馆举办首届「勤学奖」颁奖典礼，特邀内政部兼社会及家庭发展部高级政务部长吴培铭担任颁奖嘉宾，圆满完成本次育才公益活动。
典礼上，吴培铭部长发表致辞，高度肯定本地潮州社群百年深耕公益的优良传统，当中包括提供奖学金、施医赠药和扶贫济困等，对国家慈善公益所做的贡献有口皆碑。同时他援引 “十年树木，百年树人”，肯定八邑基金会的公益育才初心，强调每一笔助学资金，都是培育本土人才、回馈社会的重要力量。
潮州八邑会馆会长吴木興在会上表示，本届勤学奖共收到 58 份有效申请，经严谨审核后，55 名潮籍学子顺利获奖，总奖金达 4 万 6500 元。会馆自今年起设立勤学奖专项基金，惠及从小学到大学各教育阶段的学生。奖项面向新加坡公民与永久居民、父母一方为潮州籍、符合家庭收入标准的在读学生，旨在切实减轻潮籍学子教育负担，勉励学子勤学笃行、追求卓越，在精进学业的同时坚守潮人根脉，传承弘扬优秀潮州文化。
On 2 August, Teochew Poit Ip Huay Kuan (Singapore) held its inaugural Academic Diligence Award 2026 Presentation Ceremony. Mr Goh Pei Ming, Senior Minister of State for the Ministry of Home Affairs and Ministry of Social and Family Development, attended as the Guest of Honour. He commended the Teochew community’s long-standing commitment to philanthropy, including scholarships, medical aid and community support. He also praised the Foundation’s dedication to nurturing future generations.
President Derek Goh shared that 55 out of 58 applicants received the Diligence Award, with a total of S$46,500 awarded. Launched this year, the award supports Teochew students from primary school to university. It aims to ease financial burdens, encourage academic excellence, and inspire the younger generation to preserve and promote Teochew culture.
