In 2021, in conjunction with the 3rd Teochew Festival, the Teochew Poit Ip Huay Kuan organized the 2nd Miss Teochew Beauty Pageant to engage young Teochew women and promote cultural heritage.

The competition featured three rounds, including self-introduction in Teochew and a cheongsam Q&A segment in Mandarin, English, or Teochew. A total of 18 contestants aged 20 to 34 competed, judged on appearance, poise, character, eloquence, and confidence.

To enhance online engagement, awards such as Miss Popularity and Charity Ambassador were introduced, with audiences voting through online platforms.

On 13 November, the Closing Ceremony of the 3rd Teochew Festival and the Award Presentation Ceremony of the 2021 Miss Teochew Beauty Pageant were held at Chui Huay Lim Club. Dr Tan See Leng, Minister for Manpower and Second Minister for Trade and Industry, graced the event as the Guest of Honour. About 100 guests attended, including Honorary Permanent President Gordon Tang, Chairman of the Board of Nam Hwa Opera Ang Chin Khoon, President of Chui Huay Lim Club Teo Kian Ann, and the event sponsors.

After three rounds of competition, the winners of this year’s Miss Teochew pageant were announced as follows: Contestant No. 11 Wang Fengyi was crowned champion, Contestant No. 15 Cai Han was first runner-up, and Contestant No. 3 Chen Leying was second runner-up. Special titles were also awarded, with Contestant No. 6 Zhang Ximian named Miss Friendship, Contestant No. 12 Huang Ruojia named Miss Photogenic, Contestant No. 1 Guo Yeqi named Miss Popularity, and Contestant No. 17 Wu Jiaqin named Charity Ambassador.
